****Application deadline: 27 th September, 2014****This role reports the Manufacturing AccountantContext/Scope:EABL is the only fully integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa (supply and demand for beer, spirits and soft drinks and also includes glass and maltings production). It is the largest business unit in Diageo Africa and covers the Eastern Africa region with a growing exports business into the UK, USA & Australia. It is also the largest listed Company on the NSE (but is also listed in Uganda & Tanzania). EABL directly operates 2 breweries, 2 distilleries, a glass factory as well as a barley & malting facility. With a strong portfolio of global & local brands, EABL is the market leader across a most of its regional markets.
This role works closely with the Finance Team and Heads of Business Units in Operations.Purpose of role:
- Compiling
of annual operating plans
- Monitoring
of overhead cost base for supply chain
- Managing
Fixed Assets register
- Provision
of monthly management reports for Supply chain management team.
- Continuous
improvement of conversion systems and processes.
This calls for effective budgetary and financial control systems that monitor management effectives in controlling costs, achieving optimum volume and revenue growth and market share whilst ensuring efficient utilization of capital. Such systems should produce timely and accurate management financial information on a monthly and annual basis to meet management requirements and satisfy all legal and accounting standards.
Top Accountabilities:Financial Management
- Manage
risk and CARM processes.
- Ensure
all Supply Chain SAP manufacturing processes are seamless.
- Coordinate
the provision of the monthly Supply BPM information.
- Actively
participate in the month end reporting
- Reconciliation/Review
of all Balance Sheet accounts as per agreed Matrix circulated by BSC
- Preparation
of monthly variance reports.
- Control
all supply chain capital requests and prepare monthly update
schedule.
- Monthly
provisions and accruals.
- Prepare
monthly stock losses /obsolescence & analyse annual stock
provisions.
- Drive
rigorous control & tracking of COGs across the business to limit
variation from plan due to unnecessary spend.
- Continuous
improvement of processes and systems.
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA (K))
2 to 3 years relevant experience preferably within the FMCG sector
Supply chain experience preferred
