Job description
DDD Africa is seeking an experienced profession to take up this dynamic leadership position, based in Nairobi. As head of IT in a fast-growing ITES company, your primary role is to ensure that the IT infrastructure and services are contributing to the growth, profitability and efficiency of the company. The core tasks range from ensuring the growth, availability and stability of our internet services, to overseeing the development of software tools for internal services and client projects, to planning and executing IT services for client projects. In addition to high technical competence, this role requires strategic thinking, team leadership and project management. Managing a team of about 10 people, you will report to the head of BPO Operations to ensure the smooth operations of the IT department.
Key partner for operational teams
  • Works with operational teams to anticipate, plan and implement ICT needs for hardware, storage, internet access and software tools.
  • Works with operational teams in spirit of continuous improvement to brainstorm and deliver improvements to software tools and data management that result in higher efficiency of production, higher productivity and higher quality of output.
  • Ensures that the IT department delivers projects on time for internal and external clients, managing staff and consultants as necessary.
IT Infrastructure and Networking
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure company-wide in DDD - Africa.
  • Implements network security at the corporate level as established by Head of Operations of DDD - Africa.
  • Ensures that support for around-the-clock information transfer, storage, and processing is timely, efficient and meets the service levels required.
  • Recognizes necessary network improvements and makes suggestions to Head of Operations of DDD - Africa.
  • Lead the IT Infrastructure and operations functions of network engineering, database administration, systems engineering, and administration in addition to providing the technology foundation for the company’s enterprise business systems and applications
Software Development
  • Should manage the internal software development process and ensure an on-time delivery
  • Ensure that software is developed and supported to address client intentions and needs, for both and external clients.
  • Liaise with Sales in terms of any Software Development projects for pricing, overseeing the project and ensure on time delivery.
  • Proactively introduce new technology solutions for current business problems and keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and their impact on the enterprise architecture
Help Desk Administration
  • Coordinates the resolution of all help desk activities
  • List down Preventive/ Correction action plans for all problems
  • Responsible for all facets of the organizations technology infrastructure, including architecture, capacity planning, administration, operational management, and troubleshooting to ensure the efficient, stable, reliable and secure operations of the organizations technology
Asset Management
  • Helps decide, in conjunction with corporate leadership, which software and hardware products and other equipment are most suited for use within DDD – Africa’s infrastructure.
  • Oversees IT-related asset purchases on a company-wide basis.
  • Manages software licenses on a company-wide basis.

QUALIFICATION:
We are looking for a mature professional with at least 5 years successful experience in an IT management role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Processing, Networking or equivalent.
  • Extensive and broad based experience in computer operations, networking, telecommunications, information technology management/administration, applications and system development within a substantial Information Technology environment,
  • Experience in planning and managing large software development projects and managing in-house resources and contracted services.
  • Knowledge of current enterprise server hardware, operating systems, development tools, security systems, data center and distributed operations.
  • Knowledge of the Internet and the development of a corporate web site.
  • Knowledge of computer operations, networking and telecommunications
  • Knowledge of Information Technology management and administration
  • Knowledge of server and PC applications including word processing, spread sheets, data base, presentation software, and document control.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • To lead and coach the front desk team towards achieving the highest levels of exceptional guest service and colleague satisfaction results, through the application of all our standards and policies.
  • Ensure that the reception, Lobby area and the Business centre are always clean, mis en place in place
  • To handle guest requests inquiries and complaints in a pleasant, professional and accommodating manner
  • Seek feedback on guest satisfaction and respond to guest enquiries or complaints within 24 hours completing this with a follow up to the AFOM or FOM in accordance to our values, mission and vision.
  • Follow ups on all GIA’s raised to ensure all the raised issues have been addressed.
  • Ensure co-ordination for all groups arriving are done in advance i.e. check in, baggage handling, luggage collection upon check in/out e.t.c are handled with utmost attention to minimize crowding in the lobby both on arrival and departure.
  • Attend Resume meetings organized by the Catering teams for expected and arriving guests.
  • Ensure that the Three day Window is done for all arrivals to check that all the billing instructions and future reservations are all in order
  • Assist the FPC Co-ordinator with the FPC Arrivals, checking of the VIP rooms prior to arrival as well as ensure that the Loyalty Program enrollments are done
  • Ensure that they are the Up sell champions for the Up sell program for the front office to assist maximize our room revenues.
  • Assist in conducting daily training for the front desk agents.
  • Handle other projects and tasks as assigned by the FOM
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar position in a Five star hotel an added advantage
  • Diploma in Front Office operations or equivalent
  • Knowlege of Opera system an added advantage
  • Fluency in a foreign language an added advantage

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift

Job title ANTI-ILLICIT TRADE ANALYST (AIT Analyst)

Job PurposeReporting to the Business Risk Information Manager, the Analyst provides timely and actionable strategic and operational intelligence on illicit trade, security and business continuity risks to BAT in our East & Central Africa Area (ECAA). Exploiting all available sources, supports the Security & AIT Team by providing a first class service that delivers strategic and tactical insight to threats and risks to the business, as well as operational analytical support to investigations into the criminal networks whose activities damage the business environment and deny us commercial opportunities. The analyst is a key resource for decision support about threats to business.
Key Deliverables

  1. Provide timely, comprehensive analytical products on illicit trade and security threats which are the source of our business risks. The output informs Senior Management of the overall threat picture shaping our business environment and it supports decision making to mitigate these business risks.
  2. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the threat drivers relevant to ECAA, thus contributing to the upkeep of the risk assessments that influence our activities in a dynamic business landscape.
  3. Establish a proactive programme of information gathering to identify enablers of illicit trade & security risks.
  4. Integrate the data from threat assessments with in-house commercial market research, so as to flag potential opportunities for contestable market space to be created within the Area.
  5. Work closely with Security and AIT Managers to provide business focused responses to requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Undertake multiple source research on companies and individuals suspected of being involved in illicit trade.
  7. Manage intelligence obtained through collection plans and maintain a secure database.
  8. Support and participate in training and capacity building workshops for both internal & external stakeholders.
  9. Adhere to the business’ AIT and Security strategies, ensuring all analytical work is properly aligned with this.
Essential requirements
  1. Substantial experience and formal training in research and analysis of both qualitative & quantitative data (degree level studies in a social science discipline would be preferred).
  2. Strong interest in and a good understanding of geo-political conditions and the drivers of conflict and crime.
  3. A sound working knowledge and experience of the intelligence cycle and its application, including an appreciation of the various forms of information collection, analysis and exploitation.
  4. Excellent knowledge of manual and electronic data analysis tools, such as Excel, i2 Analyst Notebook and other database applications, as well as graphic/visual presentation tools.
  5. Methodical and disciplined, proficient in information analysis and the production of analytical product in the form of reports and briefings, often to tight deadlines and without supervision.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (strong written English). Working French an advantage. Sound understanding of illicit trade and a good awareness of the related legal issues and evidential requirements underpinning the investigation and prosecution of offenders.
