Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure administration and record keeping at the OH Center
  • Ensure site vitality & healthcare programs - wellness, VCT, nutrition, etc (Lamplighter)
  • Carry out Occupational Heath surveillance and provide primary health care
  • Ensure monthly medical records and reports
  • Ensure enzyme handlers compliance with legislative and Unilever policy requirements
  • Support the Lamplighter site programs
  • Support HIV/ AIDS workplace programs
  • Management of Training and Education programs under OH
  • Provide an advisory and guidance role to the business on Health and Safety legislator compliance.
  • Management of sick leave and return to work
  • Carry out Entry, Annual, Exit and inter departmental medical examinations


Skills & Competences
  • Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse
  • Certificate in Psychological Counselling

Our client, a listed company with operations in East and Central wishes to recruit a highly
motivated and professional individual to fi ll the position of a Group Head of Security.
Reporting to the CEO, the successful incumbent will oversee country security needs and support
the subsidiaries on their businesses security needs.

S/He will also be responsible for:
Developing and implementing the Group’s security strategy;
Ensuring the safety of the Group’s resources and the adoption of effective protection and
preventive measures;
Designing an effective security structure to ensure effective services;
Identifying the Group’s security risks and how to mitigate them;
Investigating and analysing cases for ease of decision making;
Identifying and appointing third party service providers to provide required services;
Leading and managing staff within the department;
Preparing the department’s budget and implementation plan.

The successful candidate will be required to have a university degree from a recognised university,
and extensive training in security and risk assessment. S/he will need to have a minimum of ten
years’ experience overseeing security services preferably in a fast moving consumer and high risk
products’ environment.

The ideal candidate will be technology savvy and a good communicator with impressive
interpersonal skills. S/he will have good information contacts and networks, and good
understanding of the prosecution process within the region.
An appreciation of business processes and controls in manufacturing environment will be an
added advantage.

PROJECTS ENGINEER VACANCY

Sameer Africa Limited, a leading manufacturer and provider of tyres and tyre solutions with offices across Kenya and the COMESA region, has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and resourceful candidate to fill the above position.

Main purpose of the job
Managing plant and capital investment projects in the areas of design, sourcing, installation and commissioning of new machines and equipment and modification of existing ones.

Among others, key accountabilities will include:-
  •  Leading the implementation of assigned capital projects by preparing detailed schedules and ensuring availability of all required resources
  • Establishing engineering projects master plans and ensuring implementation including commissioning, continuous evaluation and reporting
  • Identifying alternative competitive sources for machinery, equipment and other engineering supplies
  • Coordinating design review to develop appropriate specifications
  •  Leading the engineering team input in continuous plant improvement
  • Monitoring and reviewing progress and performance of projects to meet plan objectives
  • Ensuring machine availability and reliability through trouble shooting and redress during major and critical breakdowns
  •  Developing, training, motivating and evaluating departmental staff to achieve the highest levels of performance
  • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking for best practices in engineering
  • Supervising contractors undertaking projects and ensuring standards and specifications are adhered to


Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. A certification in Project Management will be an added advantage
  • At least 7 years experience in a manufacturing plant
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of PLC, instrumentation and AutoCAD
  • An active member of a recognized professional body (a registered Engineer will have an added advantage)
