Project TaO (Targeting Operating Model and One SAP) will be designing a global SAP template to support the business processes in all the Group’s operating companies.
The Area Data Lead is responsible for the coordination and delivery of data migration activities in support of One SAP deployment in ECAA. The role includes mobilising resources, managing data activities and obtaining local sign-off.
Key Deliverables
- Coordinate
all data activities in the migrating local function/area. The focus
is primarily data Migration activities, though involvement may be
required in other data related areas such as data maintenance , data
management and data governance activities
- Responsible
for signing off the DMI(data migration inventory), DQAP (data
quality action plan), BDR (Business Data Roadmap) and data loads
- Act
as an ambassador for all data activities locally. Raise the profile
of data in the migrating local function
- Manage
the local data migration team
- Develop
and manage area/function migration plan covering data migration,
data cleansing and other data readiness activities
- Provide
status reports to Regional Data Lead, Regional PMO and local
function PMO
- Ensure
that data activities are sufficiently resourced. Mobilise the local
data resources as required
- Ensure
full participation from required local SMEs and that all data
objects are assigned to local Data Owners
- Cascade
deliverables and responsibilities to local resources, as required,
and follow up to ensure completion
- Track
risks and issues relating to data readiness. Escalate when
appropriate
- Attend
relevant One SAP workshops, representing the deployment wave or data
stream
- Work
with One SAP Data team and System Integrators to complete data
migration deliverables
- Coordinate
data sign-off with local Data Owners
- Lead
data related change management activities
- Lead
local cutover activities
- Co-ordinate
and manage all local data activities in line with the cutover plan.
Responsible for business led cutover and deployment activities
- Represent
One SAP ’s approach to Master Data Management in forums within BAT
and possibly at external conferences
- Promote
and ensure use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools
- Assist
in the development
Essential requirements
- First
degree
- 2-5
years’ experience
- Has
a Good understanding of data management practices, principles and
techniques
- Understands
the implications of data quality improvement on application change,
process change, data cleansing etc.
- Change
Management and Business Engagement skills
- Communications
Skills
- Has
excellent analysis, research and facilitation skills
- Has
ability to work in cross-functional, geographically-dispersed teams
- Works
well at the detailed level, but also has the ability to focus at a
global level
Desirable requirements
- Knowledge
of BAT business operating model
- Good
knowledge of the business entities, their systems and data
- Has
experience working in a complex, multi-layered, multi-international
organisation or project preferably in a manufacturing supply chain
environment
- Has
previously worked on SAP R/3 systems. Experience of SAP data
migration and SAP ECC6.0 knowledge is required.
