Job description
****Application deadline: 1 st October, 2014****This role reports to the Procurement ManagerContext/Scope:EABL operates within a multi-cultural, multinational, multi currency environment. EABL comprises four business units: KBL, UDV, EAML, CGI and UBL. KBL is further categorized into Demand and Supply. The Supply business is involved in production of beer and spirits. The Demand business is involved in marketing and pushing the product to consumers.
This role is located within Group Commercial business. The company is structured on regional basis with purchasing sections, which have been delegated limited authority to manage their supplies and suppliers. Major procurement decisions and plans, procedures and practices are dealt with at corporate center.
Procurement ensures that;
•Goods / services purchased meet EABL requirements on quality, service and Corporate Citizenship;
•Purchasing processes / procedures comply with Diageo standards; and
•Purchasing is done to add value to Diageo – through improved cost efficiency, greater effectiveness of inputs (e.g. media) or innovation.
The incumbent works closely with the Procurement Manager, Head of Procurement Kenya, Procurement Director, MRO Asset care Engineers, MRO asset care planners, Engineering stores team and MRO buyers
Purpose of the role:
  • Define Procurement Strategy MRO category.
  • Lead Cross functional teams for both Sourcing and supplier management.
Market Complexity: The Global economy is facing a world crisis on Food leading to inflation on all commodities. As a result EABL is faced with an unprecedented inflation of all key ingredients and services. Besides, the local economy is fraught with myriad of economic problems and high level of corruption.

The supply market is complex and volatile due to liberalization, monopoly in some of the products we purchase and entrance of competition for some materials we are buying. The company imports about 50% of its total requirements. Most of the suppliers have very low capabilities. The range of goods and services we procure covers a broad range – Capital Equipment, new IS systems, packaging and raw materials, POS material, Sponsorship of events, mobile phones, air travel and catering services, utilities and chemicals
Although the “procure to pay process” is supported by SAP, it is still not optimum and needs improvement. This calls for a step change towards effective proactive procurement strategies for sourcing, introduction of modern and best practice of Supplier management for amazing supplier relationships in order to afford the company an upper hand in competition.

§ Achieve yearly financial plan and quarterly targets for Revenue, Signings and Gross profit objectives for the unit.
§ Demonstrate commitment to deliver weekly and monthly tracks as per targets set with a special focus on Short term Signings and associated revenue yield
§ Adhere timely and accurately to all IBM policies and processes including but not limited to Contract and Project Change Request processing, Signings recognition, Delivery Service Operation, Delivery Excellence, Accounts receivable and expense management for Managed Entity Group (MEG).
§ Work with Service Line leaders to achieve or exceed established over/under and chargeable and team utilization targets
§ Specifically drive line Partners to meeting their personal utilization target
§ Drive growth initiatives in Front Office Digitization, Cloud, Mobile Business, Data Analytics, Globally Integrated Enterprise and cross-brand offerings in accordance with GBS objectives. Team across IBM to sell services that differentiate IBM as well as drive larger, more profitable IBM growth
§ Collaborate and orchestrate the interplay between Industry, Service Line, Sales & Distribution, Other brands to achieve desired business results and sign cross brand deals with GBS leading;
§ Pro-actively drive PCW on all deals in the MEG and work in a manner that maximizes revenue on all deals;
§ Incorporate and sell Global delivery & Centre of Competence components for competitive advantage. Ensure forecast accuracy
§ Manage the practice for maximum effectiveness by working with the Middle East and Africa Service Line leaders to define accurate hiring plans to enable growth and on-time fulfillment and drive hiring cycle time reductions.

****Application deadline: 27 th September, 2014****This role reports the Manufacturing AccountantContext/Scope:EABL is the only fully integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa (supply and demand for beer, spirits and soft drinks and also includes glass and maltings production). It is the largest business unit in Diageo Africa and covers the Eastern Africa region with a growing exports business into the UK, USA & Australia. It is also the largest listed Company on the NSE (but is also listed in Uganda & Tanzania). EABL directly operates 2 breweries, 2 distilleries, a glass factory as well as a barley & malting facility. With a strong portfolio of global & local brands, EABL is the market leader across a most of its regional markets.
This role works closely with the Finance Team and Heads of Business Units in Operations.
Purpose of role:
  • Compiling of annual operating plans
  • Monitoring of overhead cost base for supply chain
  • Managing Fixed Assets register
  • Provision of monthly management reports for Supply chain management team.
  • Continuous improvement of conversion systems and processes.
Market Complexity:Achievement of reasonable returns to providers of capital requires that volumes and market share must be grown and productions costs must be reduced whilst improving production, sales and distribution efficiencies.
This calls for effective budgetary and financial control systems that monitor management effectives in controlling costs, achieving optimum volume and revenue growth and market share whilst ensuring efficient utilization of capital. Such systems should produce timely and accurate management financial information on a monthly and annual basis to meet management requirements and satisfy all legal and accounting standards.
Top Accountabilities:Financial Management
  • Manage risk and CARM processes.
Business Management
  • Ensure all Supply Chain SAP manufacturing processes are seamless.
  • Coordinate the provision of the monthly Supply BPM information.
  • Actively participate in the month end reporting
  • Reconciliation/Review of all Balance Sheet accounts as per agreed Matrix circulated by BSC
  • Preparation of monthly variance reports.
  • Control all supply chain capital requests and prepare monthly update schedule.
  • Monthly provisions and accruals.
  • Prepare monthly stock losses /obsolescence & analyse annual stock provisions.
  • Drive rigorous control & tracking of COGs across the business to limit variation from plan due to unnecessary spend.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and systems. 
Qualification & Experience:Bcom degree (Accounting Option)
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA (K))
2 to 3 years relevant experience preferably within the FMCG sector
Supply chain experience preferred
