The
Standard Group is implementing SAP ERP/IS-Media across core business
areas of the organization and is
looking
for a highly motivated, qualified and experienced individual for the
position of SAP ABAP Developer. The incumbent will be reporting to
the Business Systems Manager, ICT.
Key
Responsibilities
§
Gather and analyze end-user requirements for SAP ERP/IS-MEDIA
development needs
§
Design, develop, and test programs and reports for all SAP
ERP/IS-MEDIA modules and functions
§
Designs forms and screens using tools such as SAP script and Smart
Forms
§
Debugging and correcting problems with SAP WRICEF objects
§
Managing transports for SAP development objects across the system
landscape
§
Development and implementation of required changes in accordance with
set out change management
process
and procedures
§
Provide training, technical support and assistance to business users
for the various SAP modules
§
Prepare and maintain technical program documentation including
specifications, test conditions, test
plans,
and test data
§
Advise the business on SAP products, process improvements,
technologies and general operational
matters
Qualifications
& Experience
§
Degree in IT-related field from a recognized university
§
At least 3 years’ SAP/ABAP development experience
§
Knowledge and proficiency in ABAP Objects, ABAP Reports,
interface/dialog programming, BAPIs,
user
exits, batch programming, IDOC, ALE development/maintenance, ABAP
Dictionary, tables, global
classes,
function modules and other development objects
§
Development knowledge in SAP FICO, PS, MM, IS-MSD/MAM/MAMC, PP, and
PM modules
§
SAP ABAP Development Certification will be an added advantage

In the framework of the global objectives of Sanofi, the incumbent will contribute to the achievement of set objectives by designing and implementing an appropriate development plan for our Information Systems and integrate them in other systems and projects related to the company’s activities in order to optimise performance and global communication within the Eastern Southern Affiliate.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and a dotted line to Regional Information System Head, the position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The scope of operations is within the perimeter of Sanofi’s Eastern Southern Affiliate which include Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Angola, Mauritius, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana.
We are looking for a customer centric individual with an innovative mind set, solution and performance driven. The Information Systems Manager should be a self- starter who is experienced in setting up local and international systems to serve user needs and be able to interact with ease with the Regional Information Systems team and transversally with all the functions. The position will be key in implementing global projects within the affiliate’s level and the incumbent should possess solid project management skills whilst being able to work independently.

The position requires a graduate in Information Systems or a related field with minimum 5 years’ experience in managing Information Systems function in a multinational setup and substantial experience in hardware platforms, ERP applications and outsourced systems

- Define
and evaluate the Affiliates needs in terms of information
systems and submit an investment plan that conforms to the
organisation’s global strategy whilst ensuring the
development of information systems; organising, motivating and
sensitising users on the evolution of work methods for improved
efficiency in assigned tasks
- Keep
track with the technological evolution by researching and submitting
areas of application likely to bring about competitive advantages
and submit adapted solutions as regards information systems so as to
optimise profitability and productivity
- Ensure
interface with the Group for complex applications, programme
development and new projects whilst planning and implementing
the Information Systems budget and establish departmental goals
and operating procedures aligned to sanofi global policies
- Access
and communicate risks associated with Information Systems (IS)
investments while ensuring that standards for quality, security and
IS architecture defined by the Group are understood and applied
within the department
- In
partnership with the IS Zone Manager, propose innovative and
cost-efficient IS solutions to maximize business value, create
competitive advantage, and constantly improve operational excellence
- Elaborate
and maintain the Business Information Systems portfolio, manage
demand with the business on behalf of IS. Monitor and communicate
the programs / projects portfolio progression and constantly adapt
business IS strategy to Business changes
