Main Purpose of the Job

Acts as a single point of contact for all material relating to union negotiations and collective agreements, input changes as a result of IR process and Monitor all labor cases and provide data as required. The role is also responsible for maintaining IR related files and information by updating files with changes i.e. employee files, case files, collective bargaining files and provide records and information data during negotiation meetings, court cases, mgt meetings etc
Key Responsibilities
  • Update employee files or salary lists at the end of each negotiation period
  • Manage the storage of both active and historical archives for court cases
  • Provide information and related internal communication brochures to users and employees where required
  • Keep record and track all cases in relation to union matters i.e. court cases, grievances,
  • Provide information during union and works council elections/nominations
  • Prepare monthly reports in relation to industrial relations
  • Monitors and addresses legal compliance issues to by ensure that the organisation complies with local and national laws (for e.g. recruitment, diversity, data protection, employee contracts)
  • Is responsible for delivering Employee & Industrial Relations (ER/ IR) to the business (knowledge of legislative and consequent impact on the organisation, relationships with works council/ unions, government/regulatory bodies, community, etc
  • Interfaces with HR service provider for delivery of core HR services to the business monitors Quality and timeliness of service provision
  • Escalates HR service provision issues through Service Provider Management(SPM) organisation.
  • Encourages groups and individuals to work collaboratively by focusing on the common purpose of the team. Utilises insights from the team’s talents (e.g., strength finder, MBTI – Meyers Briggs, etc) to deliver the SIA (Strategy into Action)
    Key Skills and Qualification
    • A Degree in HR or a related field
    • 4- 5 experience in IR/ER Management
    • Working knowledge of Kenyan trade unionism, labour law
    • Attention to details

We are now expanding our Talent Pool for Material Planning Manager.Responsibilities: 
Materials Planning 
  • Establish material requirements for Production Plans with the use of MRP Planned Orders.
  • Monitor Stock levels and ensure material availability for current production requirements. Establish and maintain appropriate safety stock levels.
  • Highlight material constraints that could impact production plans
  • Communicate with suppliers on material requirement forecasts on an ongoing basis.Purchasing
  • Raise Purchase orders and call offs to suppliers based on planned requirements
  • Follow-up on supplier confirmation of Purchase Orders and shipments.
  • Monitor shipments of all imported materials and take action when necessary to ensure timely arrival of material on site, thereby avoid disruption to production plans.
  • Co-ordinate with Internal Logistics to ensure availability of all imported materials at BUL
  • Establish requirements of specified packaging materials both local and imported based medium term requirements. Place purchase orders and issue call offs according to Production Schedules.
  • Liase with Suppliers on rejected materials or short shipped consignments.Co-ordinate on sourcing issues
  • Co-ordinate with Planners / Sourcing on new raw and packaging materials.
  • Provide data to establish Supplier Performance rating.Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • Ensure MRP (planning) and call-off procedures are followed.
  • Update MRP Master Data.
  • Obtain information on MOQ, shipping and clearance lead-times and update planning information in Fourth Shift.
Requirements: 
  • University Degree
  • At least 3 Years experience of procuring local and imported materials and dealing with overseas suppliers
  • High analytical skills
  • Advance excel skills
  • Familiar with MRP systems (SAP, Fourth Shift etc)
  • Should have good interpersonal skills
  • Planning and organizing skills

Assistant Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
  • Fully responsible for maintaining plant and equipment and providing engineering cover for the Factory, to ensure safe, efficient and reliable performance of all plants and equipment as well as maintenance of buildings and structures.
  • To initiate and manage programmes to reduce cost, minimise waste, improve efficiency and machine uptime, reliability, quality and safety
  • Ensures that maintenance plans are achieved at the agreed budget costs and in a safe manner.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of all plants, equipment and building.
  • Co-operates with the Manufacturing Excellence Manager in the planning and execution of TPM, training and cost savings/efficiency programmes.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Company Safety Policy in the Engineering Department, Particularly with respect to policy awareness and Conformance.
  • Ensures prudent and judicious management of the maintenance and repairs budget to ensure optimum benefit.
  • Submits to the Plant Manager capital proposals for the Department.
  • Carries out any special projects assigned him by the Plant Manager and Engineering Manager.
  • Responsible for the management of his staff on such matters as safety, training, maintenance, recruitment and welfare.
  • Compiles, maintains and ensures compliance with safe and efficient maintenance and engineering procedures.
  • Liaises with Development Department/Asst. Production Managers for the modification of process plants and equipment in the management of the innovation process for new products and processes.
  • Initiates and manages waste minimisation programmes and reduce effluent loads on the environment.
    Requirements:
    • Minimum BSc. in Engineering.
    • 3-5 years of experience in Engineering Management.
    • Knowledge in Maintenance planning and execution
    • Excellent leadership skills.
