are seeking to recruit experienced and self-motivated individuals to
the position of Area
Business Partner in
our Circulation and Distribution department.
Reporting
to the Commercial Manager, the Area Business Partner will work with
the Circulation team to ensure that the team meets set Circulation
and Distribution targets.
Key
responsibilities
- Achieving
revenue and volume budgets;
- Managing
Returns/ unsold copies within acceptable levels.
- Organising
and driving the circulation operations through field sales visits to
vendors and agents in order to maximize on opportunities for copy
sales;
- Ensuring
efficient management of the value chain;
- Reviewing
previous day's performance with the distributor and setting the
day's print order based on prevailing conditions like news stories,
weather and economic situations;
- Resolving
various distribution problems on the ground, identifying potential
sales outlets and liaising with NCD for correct deliveries;
- Reviewing
weekly payments with the distributor, collecting payment cheques on
due dates and ensuring that the cheques reach the Circulation
Accountant;
- Organising
client relationship programmes in liaison with territory sales
Supervisor with the distributor, agents and vendors;
- Managing
and coordinating the Sales and Distribution Assistants.
Required
Skills:
- Bachelor’s
degree in business management or a business related field;
- At
least 2 years experience in FMCG environment;
- Analytical,
self -driven and love to be measured on performance;
- Demonstrable
passion for sales and marketing.
- Understanding
of the dynamics and complexity of print sales and circulation;
- People
management skills.

role reports the Safety ManagerContext/Scope: EABL
operates within a multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-currency
environment. EABL comprises four business units: KBL, EAML, CGI and
UBL. KBL is further categorized into Demand and supply. The demand
business is involved in marketing and pushing the product to
consumers. The supply business is involved in production of beer and
spirits.
This role will be involved in preventing incidents,
accidents and damage to property and injuries at KBL. The incumbent
will be involved in executing fire and safety policies, as well as
implementing and making sure that staff follows these policies,
practices and laws. The role will also assist demand section at
corporate center.Purpose
of role:The
role of the Fire officer is to coordinate fire safety systems at KBL
creating awareness to staff, provision and maintenance of fire
prevention equipment, adherence to statutory safety and environment
requirements, development of safe methods of work and provision of
emergency and crisis handling resources.
The role holder will
organize and execute evacuation drills, staff training on emergencies
and conduct risk assessment for all company functions.Market
Complexity: The
fire officer is required to be competent in application of the key
fire-safety management processes. This includes being responsible for
ensuring best practice in fire-safety practice for EABL staff. The
site also houses third parties including KK security, Haulers,
caterer and a flock of construction contractors’ in liaison with
safety manager and Diageo fire safety team.
The fire officer
requires the ability to lead and influence change in behavior and

- In
liaison with the safety manager review KBL safety management systems
and procedures:
- Safety
policy implementation and review.
- Safety
training to support competence development..
- Management
of KBL fire-safety performance program:
- Development
of annual fire-safety plans/objectives
- Annual
fire LTO and other internal audits.
- Accident
investigation and reporting.
- Safety
promotion programs to all stakeholders.
- Interrelationships
with other departments
- Deputize
for the safety manager as appropriate.
- Function
as a lead emergency support member, including providing out of
hours cover for operational incidents.
- Relationship
management with EHS regulatory authorities.
- Review
and enforce KBL safety and procedures:
- Fire
policies implementation and review
- Select,
manage and develop teams and individuals within a framework of EABL
to ensure that the current and future needs of the business (in
particular the emergency response function) are met.
- Monitor
and evaluate the safety systems
- Supporting
site risk management systems.
- Enforcement
and adherence to statutory inspections of boilers pressure vessels,
lifts, hoists etc.
- Provision
and maintenance of an elaborate fore detection and fighting
facilities compliant with statutory and Diageo requirements.
Development
of emergency response procedures and training of emergency response
teams to handle first line emergenciesQualification
& Experience:
- A
bachelor degree
- Training
in fire engineering and disaster management
- Possession
of auditors certificate for OHSAS
- Comprehensive
knowledge of ISO 9001, HACCP, ISO, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 standards
plus any other management systems that may apply.
- At
least 3 management experiences in a food or manufacturing industry
at least 1 year of which must be in first line management.
Experience
in OHS and environment management disciplines, incident investigation
and route cause analysis, dealing with external authorities and
managing/coordinating within a multi-site and multi-cultural
environment.
