SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR VPI.11
Job profile
Reporting to the Board, the incumbent will be responsible for the Internal Audit function in ensuring that the management policies and procedures are adhered to and that internal controls are effective
Key Responsibilities
  •  reviewing of internal control systems;
  •  verifying operations and activities on the utilization of the Institute’s resources;
  •  carrying out audit checks to ensure validity and accuracy;
  •  interpreting financial policies for sound auditing and control;
  •  undertaking special audit investigations as may be required;
  •  preparing audit reports and follow up on implementation of recommendations; interpreting the regulations of the Institute pertaining to financial control and management;
  •  implementing audit tasks and analyzing outcomes and prepare report on required changes;
  •  undertaking fraud investigations to ensure that the operational plan and procedures are implemented;
  •  developing and implementing audit management systems;
  •  carrying out risk assessment and develop management guidelines; and
  •  preparation and implementation of annual audit plans.
Qualifications:
  •  Served in the grade of Internal Auditor 1 for at least three (3) years;
  • Part III of the Certified Public Accountants of Kenya its equivalent from a recognised Institution; OR.
  •  Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting Option/Finance) or its equivalent from a recognised Institution; Plus Part II of CPA
  •  Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  •  Comply with the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution.
Competences:
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  •  Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions
  •  Good interpersonal and team building skills necessary to drive initiatives and achieve results
  •  Computer literate.
Remuneration
The salary scale attached to the post is in the Institutes’ harmonized scale of VPI.11 plus other allowances commensurate to this position applicable in the Institute.

Purpose of the Job
To assist in road maintenance, construction and other emergency works.
Key Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail assisting in:-
  1. Preparing engineering designs for road works;
  2. Preparing and processing tender documentation for road works;
  3. Preparing procurement plans for road work programmes;
  4. Reviewing standards and specifications for road works;
  5. Supervising of all road works contracts.
  6. Developing and monitoring all road works programmes;
  7. Undertaking Annual road inventory and condition surveys;
  8. Collecting, collating and compiling annual road maintenance work programme;
  9. Preparing road maintenance contract documents;
  10. Preparing , monitoring and evaluating Strategic Plans and projects;
  11. Carrying out Traffic surveys and managing traffic data;
  12. Collecting and collating economic, environmental and social data for road investment programmes and strategies;
  13. Reviewing roadside development applications and field reports.
  14. Preparing axle load control programmes;
  15. Enforcing axle load standards;
  16. Preparing quality assurance plans;
  17. Undertaking technical audits for works and services;
  18. Preparing reports on all road works programmes;
Required qualifications
a)A degree in Civil Engineering
b)Registration as a graduate Engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya
