Job
PurposeReporting
the Plant Manager, the plant engineer has the overall responsibility
for all technical services function including Electrical, Mechanical,
Building Services and process improvement and optimization. He / She
will be required to ensure that the Capital Expenditure projects are
managed professionally and delivered cost effectively within
budget.
Key
Deliverables
- Improve
equipment availability to support timely achievement of processing
schedules and devise measures to achieve and sustain target
production efficiencies
- To
manage the provision of services, (engineering, utilities,
environmental health & safety, facilities, Indirects
Procurement) in a controlled manner so that the department meets its
objectives while the site receives uninterrupted service
- Effectively
manages the department’s expenditure and assets within the agreed
budget
- Lead
maintenance, annual overhaul and modification projects of plant and
quality control equipment to guarantee attainment of consistent
optimum productivity and quality product
- Energy
management; to act as a consultant to all internal departments
regarding proactive management of energy consumption
- To
identify the future business and capex requirements and ensure these
are agreed and included in the Company plan in a timely way
- Ensure
satisfactory completion of projects within agreed budget, to agreed
time schedules and to agreed specification
- Overall
responsibility (technical) for the site in terms of technical
standards, alignment with Regional/ Global operations, compliance
with local legal obligations
- To
champion environmental health & safety activities and standards,
and to support the factory in achieving high safety standards
- To
maintain a professional and well-motivated team, ensuring
appropriate training and development to ensure succession for all
key positions. And to promote coaching and champion people
development so that is taken up at all levels of the organization –
ensuring a self-sustaining organization
- To
engender of a culture of Openness, supported by Change management
principles – so the organization is prepared for change and
innovation
- To
roll out and communicate that aligned vision, so that people are
engaged and inspired (using the Line of Sight process)
- To
champion the one business unit, ways of working and to provide
leadership to the team and support the above-factory collaborative
processes
Essential
requirements
- A
degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Minimum
5 years experience as a mechanical/plant Engineer
- Experience
in contract - management and good negotiation skills
Desirable
requirements
- Experience
of Project Management using Prince2 methodology is an added
advantage
- Proven
experience of industrial management acquired in industry
- Good
communication and managing skills
- Ability
to take clear decisions in different and difficult situations and a
high degree of innovation.

Reporting
to the Head
of Department-Strategy & Planning,
the position holder will shape and drive end to end Network strategy
and Architecture for Safaricom ensuring that our network evolves to
deliver the best customer experience, enable new rich services and
meet future operational targets. This role requires a high caliber
individual with strong strategic mindset, solid understanding of
network architectures and proven track record for working effectively
with a wide set of stakeholders on complex technology programmes
Key
Responsibilities:
- Developing
architectural framework required to deliver strategy;
- Defining
vision and overall strategy to meet business needs;
- Integrating
opportunities/challenges across network domains to create aligned
set of strategic priorities;
- Ensuring
we create an effective end-to-end network to deliver future customer
needs/opportunities at lowest cost;
- Manage
interfaces with other technology domains, Corporate Strategy,
Vodafone Technology network (VTN) and Vodafone Group OpCos to ensure
aligned approach towards strategy and architecture development,
working as one team to deliver benefit for our customers;
- Working
with procurement and technology network domains to ensure we
leverage supplier competition to drive innovation, manage costs and
provide best customer experience;
- Manage
the transition and delivery of architectural elements based on
project requirements;
- Develop
and communicate governance framework for technology;
- Drive
sharing knowledge, decisions, patterns and lessons learnt to
integrate new solutions;
- Drive
uniformity of technology approach for planning & operational
processes across technology;
- Attract
and recruit the best talent;
- Develop
the team through Learning initiative, mentoring, coaching so as to
create technology subject leads within the Strategy Function;
- Drive
attainment of efficiencies through continuous improvement and or
automation of process/activities with clearly identified and agreed
on key performance measures.
Role
requirements;
- University
degree in a telecommunications biased discipline;
- Experience
of leading development of complex technology strategies,
architectures or roadmaps;
- Good
understanding of broad set of Network technologies desired;
- Proven
track record in network strategy development;
- Proven
track record in network architecture development;
- Supplier
strategy experience.

Role
Responsibility:
Main
Purpose of the Role
The
main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to G4S
Kenya Training, Learning and Development functions. The main
deliverables shall be as follows;
1.
Planning & Coordinating Activities
- Organise
and facilitate trainings including prior training plans
- Ensure
that before commencement of training sessions all training materials
and or equipment are available
- Receive
and process supplier invoices for training related supplies and
services
- Ensure
that the Training Academy is well resourced
- Recording
of training results including issuance of training certificates
2.
Supporting Trainers
- Support
company trainers with resources – equipment, printing, venue
sourcing and any other preparations prior to training sessions
- Monitoring
of training schedules and calendars
- Process
Trainers allowances and travel arrangements
3.
Reporting
- Prepares
timely and accurate weekly and monthly training reports
- Maintains
all training records
4.
Supplier Management
- Liaise
with all training suppliers to ensure G4S gets value for money
- Process
all supplier payments in line with company policy
5.
National Industrial Training Authority (NITA)
- Facilitate
all NITA applications and follow up on approvals
- Follow
up NITA payments and reimbursements
- Monthly
NITA updates
6.
Training Academy
- Ensure
that the training academy is clean at all times
- Resourcing
of the training academy
7.
Management Training
- Provide
administrative support to all management trainings
Person
Profile
The
ideal candidates would have the following qualifications and
attributes:-
- Bachelor’s
degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
- A
minimum of three years work experience preferably in the training
function of a busy HR department
- Hands
on experience in delivering training and development modules
- Excellent
communication skills – both written and oral
- Ability
to operate autonomously
- Proficient
in MS Office suite
- Flexible
and able to work within tight schedules and deadlines
- Team
leadership skills with ability to motivate others and ability to
work within team complexities
